The purpose of the Sister Deer Circle is to come together to be of service to our community. The
story of Sister Deer is that many moons ago, there was a time when the two-leggeds could not find enough to eat. It
was at this time that the Deer Clan offered to give their lives in order to feed the two-leggeds. The Deer Clan is honored
in many ceremonies by the Native Americans as being a great teacher of selfless giving and sacrifice. Sister Deer teaches
us to give with no agenda, to give just because it is needed.
Each month,
one or two people will pick a charity or organization that they would like for us to donate our time to. That person
(or persons!) will communicate with the charity, pick a date and time, and then pass that information on to me. I will
put the event on the website, and send out an email to let everyone know the details.
My
hope is that this will be a way of coming together as community in a fun and fulfilling way. Please let me know if you'd
like to be involved or have an idea of an organization you'd like us to donate our time and energy to.
